According to the Restored Biblical Calendar, the period around May 19, 1780, corresponded to the time of Pesach Sheni. Before explaining what happened on May 19, 1780, in the United States, it is important to understand what Pesach Sheni is. For the Israelites of the old covenant, God had granted them the opportunity to exceptionally celebrate Passover on the 14th day of the SECOND biblical month instead of the 14th day of the first biblical month. This exception is called Pesach Sheni or Passover Sheni. To better understand the context, you can read, for example, 2 Chronicles 30 and Numbers 9:6-11. These accounts are rich in teachings.
Now, what happened on May 19, 1780, in New England?
“There was the appearance of midnight at noonday…. The wind in the evening passed round further north where a black cloud lay, and gave us reason to expect a sudden gust from that quarter. The wind brought that body of smoke and vapor over us in the evening (at Salem), and perhaps it never was darker since the children of Israel left the house of bondage. This gross darkness held till about one o’clock, although the moon had fulled the day before.”
Some claim that it was the night when the moon turned red like blood. To learn more, you can read this article: LINK.

As believers, it is essential to remain vigilant and attentive to the signs that God reveals to us through nature and cosmic events, without being afraid, but rather to strengthen our assurance that Jesus is coming soon:
“Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the heavens, though the nations are terrified by them.” (Jeremiah 10:2)
Let us not forget to seek wisdom and guidance from God in all things and to remain open to His revelation through His Word.
May each one be amazed by the Creator God and seek to know His will more through Jesus Christ.
